SISIO FALL/WINTER 2025 COLLECTION – ANITYA

Journey

Charlotte is on a creative path of discovery; drawn to remote frontiers. She fell upon and developed a deep reverence for Scandinavian; Iceland; a land of raw, untamed beauty of its vast landscapes and never-ending skies, where natures magnificence collides with an unparalleled sense of power and wonder.

Greenland was a new destination in August 2024, where she spent a week in complete isolation. Experiencing a uniquely rare, profound stillness because of a violent storm. Once passed, she witnessed fjords bursting their banks with the gushing power of freshly fallen rain. This solitude prompted her to deeply contemplate the meaning of life, and grasping for true meaning. As she floated adrift in a small sailing boat, surrounded by haunting rhythms of nature she began to imagine how her new collection would become a true expression of he feelings.

A few months later she found herself in Los Angeles, a city engulfed in an apocalyptic wildfires, smoke. A man-made climate crisis, sweeping the planet with unprecedented speed.

Creation

Her new collection weaves in elements of Buddhist calligraphy as an exploration of universal truths. Buddhist philosophy describes the cycle of ‘formation, existence, decay, and emptiness’, a concept that resonates strikingly with modern scientific theories on cosmic evolution and multidimensional time. It reminds us that change is the only constant, that impermanence is not a tragedy but a fundamental law of existence.

SISIO stays true to its signature sculptural curves and hand-dyed textiles while introducing new dimensions of craftsmanship. Charlotte drew inspiration from the hydrangeas in her mother’s garden, meticulously deconstructing and reconstructing petals through an entirely handmade process of cutting, dyeing, and reassembling. Hydrangeas bloom in summer; the season closest to her heart. When she was a student in America, summer was the time she could return home. This motif, deeply personal yet universal, reflects a common human tendency: we long for distant dreams while overlooking the beauty that already surrounds us. As she expresses through a poignant quote, ‘We always dream of the horizon of a wonderful rose garden, not to enjoy today in our window open rose.’

The collection’s colour palette is rooted in the earth itself; warm neutrals and ocean blues that echo the planet’s core elements. Select garments feature ice-dye and tie-dye techniques, capturing the shifting hues of auroras, rainbows, and glaciers. These fluid transitions mirror the vitality and transience of nature’s design. At the same time, every fabric choice remains true to our commitment to sustainability and biodegradability. Charlotte has also devoted immense effort to designing all the bags and shoes in this collection, ensuring that accessories play a vital role in the overall aesthetic. Each three-dimensional hydrangea and lotus on the bags is meticulously hand-dyed and sculpted from leather, showcasing artisanal craftsmanship and the delicate beauty of nature. Every pair of shoes is uniquely hand-painted and polished to complement its corresponding garment, with intricate beaded embellishments adding depth and artistry. These accessories not only embody the raw energy of nature but also exude a quiet, meditative elegance, making them a defining highlight of the collection.

Our soundscape is a collaboration with Björk and Ólöf Arnalds, as well as Japanese indie rock band Sly. To create an immersive experience, Charlotte travelled to Iceland, recording natural soundscapes; whispering winds, cascading waterfalls, the rhythmic pulse of the wild. Layered with the ethereal guitar arrangements and the haunting vocals of lead singer Hector, the result is an auditory landscape that transports the audience into the heart of nature itself.

This collection is an ode to impermanence, a meditation on nature’s resilience, and a call to reflect on the choices that will shape our collective future.
